Has Nigel Farage finally understood the true evil of the EU?

Watch this video of the UKIP leader in a debate on the Lisbon Treaty in Ireland earlier this month, it appears that contrary to earlier evidence, all of which is available on this blog, Nigel Farage is now fully aware that the EU is not a tiger to be ridden!!

A brilliant performance especially his handling of the Monnet Professor towards the end.

Lisbon/Reform/Constitutional Treaty approved in European Parliament

European Parliament President Hans-Gert Pöttering said immediately after the vote: "I welcome this overwhelming majority supporting for the Treaty. The vote represents the free will of the people you represent. This Treaty gives the EU the possibility to function properly and improves democratic structures." Referring to protests in the House, he said: "We in the European Parliament defend European values. We will never let volume and noise prevail over a democratic Europe."

"What the EP is engaged in here in today's debate is nothing less than a massive exercise of deceit" said Nigel FARAGE (IND/DEM, UK). Compared to the failed Constitution, the Lisbon Treaty "is virtually identical in every regard, and it is constitutional because it gives the EU a full legal personality and the ability to amend itself" without having to call an intergovernmental conference. "The truth is that you are too chicken to have a referendum. Now you resort to totalitarian means to get this treaty through." The Lisbon Treaty "gives the EU the ability to legislate over every aspect of our lives." "I hope that the people of Ireland send a large resounding NO. You may be complacent today, but you are increasingly being held in contempt."

UKIP's Campbell Bannerman to debate in Ireland

MEANWHILE, the UK Independence Party's parliamentary Candidate for Suffolk South, David Campbell Bannerman, is taking the battle for a referendum on the EU's Reform Treaty to the only place in the EU which currently will have a referendum - Ireland.

Mr Campbell Bannerman has been invited by the historic Trinity College Dublin to oppose former Irish Taioseach Garret FitzGerald in a debate tomorrow on the Treaty.

“The stakes could not be higher. The Treaty is the end game. It is recognised as the Constitution by the Constitution's own authors - Giscard d'Estaing and Labour's own Gisela Stuart MP - yet UK Europhiles still harbour the fiction that the Treaty is completely different. It is brazen dishonesty, the like of which I have never seen before in British politics.

“This Constitution will be self amending, so they can add a flag, anthem and army behind closed doors. It will give the EU a legal status and change our passports so we become EU citizens not subjects of our Queen.”
