More Financial Woes

As if the horrible hole in the party's finances left by the complete incompetence and mismanagement of Party Chairman David Lott were not enough; it is now rumoured within the party that the recent futile and expensive 21-month-long, ultimately unsuccessful defence of their decision to unconstitutionally deny Nikki Sinclaire her seat on the N.E.C., probably cost them tens of thousands of pounds. Apparently UKIP hired a barrister and the final hearing lasted two days. As one member has written What a tragic waste of members' money.

As we mentioned Lott's incompetence once again, we cannot resist posting this quote from an e-mail sent to Lott in January 2000 when Lott's proclivity to waste money was clearly already obvious:

For the K & C By-election you are advocating spending thirty thousand pounds. This totally unnecesaary, ten thousand is more than sufficient. Your policy would turn this campaign into a circus. We need that money for deposits when it really counts: at the next general election just 6 months away by my forecast.

Well, a circus is most assuredly what UKIP has now become. Let's just hope this week's Emergency NEC gets something sorted!
