UKIP Treasurer Ousted

Mere days after the full report of Peter Troy's ballot rigging as unearthed by Party Treasurer, John de Roeck, appeared on this blog the axe fell. Monday's NEC spit down the middle seven/seven on a motion to kick out the treasurer and Chairman Lott decreed that de Roeck should leave.

The exact reasons for his departure were not immediately clear but are probably connected to the financial straits in which the party now finds itself following the huge overspend during the May elections. This would seem borne out by a rumour circulating that an attempt was being made to make the dismissal retroactive, a startlingly original concept if not an apparent impossibility.

In other developments we hear that the eighteen month suspension from UKIP party office for the three officers of the suspended North East Regional Committee has been lifted, although rumoured attempts to reverse this decision might possibly have been successful as the victims of the totally unjustified suspension had, as of this morning, yet to hear of their reprieve.
