Conflicting Views

The following press release was put out by Colin Bullen Chairman, Campaigning Secretariat, CIB an organisation unsullied by any past associations with Greg Lance Watkins:-

A Statement by the Campaign for an Independent Britain

Reports in the national media indicate that some who claim to be Eurosceptic are applauding the murder of Anna Lindh. The Campaign for an Independent Britain wishes to make clear that it abhors such sentiments and has only contempt for those who make them. That anyone could defend, and even acclaim, the cold blooded murder of a defenceless wife and mother is almost beyond belief and such people have no place in the Eurorealist movement.

We seek to defend democracy and regard those who would use the methods of the fascists to advance their cause as completely beyond the pale. No one should imagine that such people speak for any part of the Eurorealist movement and we are sure that all democrats will join the Swedish people in mourning the tragic death of their foreign minister.

Colin Bullen

Contrast the statement above with the position put forward this afternoon by Mark Croucher Press Officer of the United Kingdom Independence Party. After please read on to the posts that follow, highlighting some of the links between this dreadful man and most of those at the centre of power of UKIP:-

Dear All,

I would point out that Greg is not a member of UKIP. Whilst I heartily agree that the party should disassociate itself from his comments, I suspect that the issuance of a press release will actually achieve the exact opposite, and possibly lead to a connection being made which does not exist.

Therefore, whilst I agree with your sentiments, UKIP is not responsible for the actions of the entire eurosceptic movement, and I do not intend to issue a national press release on this subject, and I would also strongly urge regional/branch press officers not to do so either. Why would we deny something which is not related to us, unless we were trying to conceal his
involvement? A press release will just raise more questions than it answers and ensure that we are tarred with some responsibility for his comments.

Best etc

Mark

Mark Croucher
National Press Officer
U.K. Independence Party

To quote the UKIP Press Officer Why would we deny something which is not related to us, unless we were trying to conceal his involvement?.....Perhaps he should have put that question to whoever in the hierarchy ordered this cover-up rather than to the party membership at large, many of whom now know the truth all too well!
