The World According to Chairman Lott

Some recent quotes from UKip's Chairman:-

When the party leader travelled to the NE he attended two meetings - neither of which was to promote the UKIP but to obtain general publicity but without mentioning the name of UKIP.

"It will help a “Lott"

Please try to keep emails to a minimum, it will help a lot.

Chairman Lott, (the Minister of Information for UKIP)

The NE problem has been resolved but the final solution has been imposed by the NEC as the people in the NE refused to agree to an earlier NEC decision.

There was absolutely NO bending of the rules. I simply do not do that sort of thing.

……..’s candidacy was forwarded to the NE but for some reason was not taken seriously as he was not invited to the hustings meetings.

Once approved it is not up to anybody else to alter that, otherwise, as I am sure you will appreciate, the whole candidate interview and selection procedure would fall apart.

………………Contradicted not a Lott later by……………….
From what you say it seems it was on your original application form and then deleted when you agreed to stand in the NE but I do not know if that was the case or not.

The material for an attack on the leadership is a total fabrication.

You may remember that Roger warned this sort of destabilising process would happen the more successful we are. Well we are being successful!!

The NEC has acted in the case of the NE which we expect will draw a line under the affair.

Please believe your NEC and not that of an infiltrator.

There has been no gerrymandering here at all

After that the list was finally closed other than to the late entrants under the special rules requiring agreement of all the candidates on the list

No one was deliberately re-instated in March. They were always on the list but were simply overlooked.

Please understand there has not been any conspiracy to forward the
chances of any candidate whatsoever.

Busy Doing Not a Lott :-

Why on earth should I feel embarrassed about working hard? Odd.

I have masses to do as we are in the critical few days before all the procedures and paperwork for hundreds of local election candidates and all those in the Scottish and Welsh campaigns have to be completed.

…you will gain some sympathy for the incredible pressure under which some of us are working.

Something went wrong with my last transmission. I wrote one thing and it appears it sent the original message!

Concluding with:

My hand has to be very steady on the tiller right now.

All such speculation is purely in the minds of others

I am getting tired of defending the most democratic system used by any party in the UK for the selection of candidates. That, ……, is my final word on this issue

I do not seek or want any further correspondence on this issue.

Hopefully this will be not only the first, but also the last post we make on this subject. If, tomorrow, the UKIP NEC decide to continue with this particularly unsteady hand on the tiller, then we shall provide regular updates from the rich source available, until, that is, we all hit the rocks. (Small point on nautical terminology - small boats such as dinghies, lifeboats etc., have tillers bigger ships have wheels!) Are we all adrift in a lifeboat?
