Its their own lies that are killing the Tories
As Adam Raphael, formerly of The Economist, said on Dateline London yesterday, if the Conservatives are going to adopt "Truth" as a guiding principle, then it has to apply across the board.
Starting their conference with their Chairman Maurice Saatchi declaring they were ahead in many marginal constituencies was an example of their propensity to lie chosen by Mr Raphael - I would have cited Europe but both will do equally well.
It is perfectly preposterous to present themselve as a credible alternative government especially trying to do so while plummeting in the polls and propounding their intention to evermore only speak the truth. The electorate have seen through them and the quicker they are seen off once and for all, the sooner a viable opposition can emerge.
Closet Tories within UKIP are also doing their level best to deprive the country of a real opposition to this daily less democratic and more tyrannical Labour government. My blog Ironies carries daily reports on the growing erosions to our freedoms and is linked from here.
News of Howard's hypocrits is carried on the blog Teetering Tories, linked here. Today Chris Patten, now disgustingly enriched as a result of his selling out of many in Northern Ireland, is covered turning on his one time party, presumably in defence of his EU pension and perks.
